OJ CCTV Melbourne
Terms &Conditions.
These terms explain how our CCTV supply and installation service works, what is included in standard installation, and the responsibilities of both OJ CCTV Melbourne and the customer.

01 / Scope
About these terms.
These Terms & Conditions apply to CCTV products and installation services supplied by OJ CCTV Melbourne. By accepting a quote, booking an installation, paying an invoice or allowing us to begin work, you agree to these terms together with any written quote, invoice or agreed job-specific conditions.
If a written quote or invoice contains a job-specific term that differs from these general terms, the job-specific term will apply to that job to the extent of the inconsistency.
02 / Quotes & pricing
Package pricing and extra work.
Prices shown on our website are in Australian dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise.
- Advertised package prices are based on a standard installation at a suitable single-storey property.
- Double-storey work, difficult access, unusual mounting surfaces, non-standard mounting requirements, additional storage and other extra work may be quoted separately.
- Travel beyond 40 km of Springvale may incur an additional travel charge or require a separate quote.
- Photos, descriptions and information supplied before the appointment are used to estimate the scope of work. If the actual site conditions differ materially, we may discuss a revised price or alternative installation before carrying out extra work.
We will not intentionally carry out chargeable additional work without discussing it with you first.
03 / Installation
What standard installation includes.
Unless otherwise stated in your quote, standard installation generally includes mounting the cameras and supplied solar panels, connecting and pairing the HomeBase, connecting the system to the supported app and providing a basic handover of key functions.
Camera positioning
We can provide practical positioning advice, but the final position is agreed with the customer. Camera coverage can be affected by walls, vegetation, parked vehicles, lighting, distance, camera movement and other environmental factors.
Mounting
Installation is subject to suitable and safe access, a suitable mounting surface and the installer being satisfied that the proposed location can be worked on safely. We may decline or modify a requested mounting location if we consider it unsafe, unsuitable or likely to damage the property or equipment.
04 / Customer responsibilities
What we need from you.
- Provide accurate information about the property, proposed camera locations and any known access limitations.
- Ensure an authorised adult is available to approve camera and equipment positions where required.
- Provide suitable access to the installation areas and keep those areas reasonably clear.
- Provide a working home internet connection and suitable Wi-Fi or network coverage where required by the equipment.
- Provide an accessible indoor power point and network connection for the HomeBase where required.
- Tell us about concealed services, known hazards, fragile surfaces, asbestos concerns or property restrictions before work begins where relevant.
- Obtain any landlord, owners corporation, body corporate or other permissions required for the installation.
05 / System performance
Wireless, solar and battery limitations.
Wireless solar CCTV performance depends on factors outside the installer’s control. These include Wi-Fi strength, internet availability, radio interference, sunlight, shade, weather, season, camera activity, notification settings, Live View usage and changes to the property after installation.
- Solar charging reduces the need for manual charging but does not guarantee that a battery will remain fully charged in every location or season.
- Battery-powered cameras may require occasional manual charging.
- Weak or unstable Wi-Fi can affect remote viewing, notifications, playback and camera connectivity.
- Battery and solar cameras are primarily designed for event-based recording and may not be suitable for customers who require continuous 24/7 recording.
- AI detection, tracking and notifications are assistive features and cannot be guaranteed to detect or track every person, vehicle, pet or event.
CCTV is a monitoring and deterrence tool. Installation does not guarantee that theft, trespass, damage or other incidents will be prevented, detected or recorded in every case.
06 / Products & faults
Products, apps and support.
Product features, app interfaces, cloud services and firmware may be changed by the manufacturer from time to time. OJ CCTV Melbourne does not control manufacturer software updates, third-party cloud services, internet outages or changes made by the product manufacturer after installation.
If there is a problem
Please contact us with a description of the issue and, where possible, photos, screenshots or video. We may first ask you to complete reasonable troubleshooting steps so we can identify whether the issue relates to installation, the product, the network or settings.
Any manufacturer or supplier warranty is additional to, and does not replace, rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
07 / Property & access
Reasonable care during installation.
We take reasonable care when carrying out installation work. Drilling, fastening and mounting CCTV equipment necessarily involves making holes or fixings in the agreed mounting surface.
The customer must tell us before work begins about known concealed pipes, wiring, waterproofing systems, fragile finishes or other hidden conditions that may affect the work. We may stop or refuse work where conditions appear unsafe or materially different from what was represented before the booking.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
08 / Payment
Payment and invoices.
Payment is due in accordance with the amount and timing stated on your quote, invoice or booking confirmation. Any agreed variations or extra work will be added to the final amount.
If a payment method attracts a disclosed processing surcharge, that surcharge will be shown or communicated before payment where applicable.
09 / Australian Consumer Law
Your statutory rights remain in place.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where the Australian Consumer Law applies, goods must meet applicable consumer guarantees and services must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for any agreed purpose where the law requires it, and be supplied within a reasonable time where no time has been agreed.
If goods or services fail to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, the remedies available depend on the circumstances and whether the failure is major or minor.
These website terms are intended to explain our service in plain English. They should be read together with your quote or invoice and do not override rights provided by law.
